Basic Food Flavors Inc., a supplier of Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP), announced a Class I Recall recently due to the possibility of contamination by Salmonella. Nestle, maker of Minor’s products, placed a number of items “on hold” at our distribution centers until they could determine the relative risk associated with consumption of their products. The recall that was issued on romaine lettuce is on Freshway and Imperial Sysco labels only. We DO NOT carry these brands.
